VEEDERSBURG -- Mrs. Opal Sewell, 61, a resident of Veedersburg for 22 years, died Saturday at her home, 510 W. 11th St. She had been employed by the REMC at Attica for a number of years. Born Feb. 19, 1905, at Eugene, Ind., she was the daughter of James and Mary Hawkins Collom. She was married Aug. 1, 1923, in Terre Haute to Charles Sewell. He preceded her in death in September, 1954. Mrs. Sewell belonged to the Veedersburg Christian Church. The survivors include her mother, who resides in Veedersburg; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Stockdale, Rt. 2, Veedersburg, Mrs. Marie Irwin, Rt. 3, Covington, Mrs. Barbara Anders, Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy Reed and Mrs. Virginia Crumley, both of Indianapolis; three brothers, Paul Collom of Georgetown, Ill., James Collom of Holly Hill, S.C., and James Collom, a missionary in Bermuda, and 14 grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Veedersburg Christian Church, with Rev. James Dyson in charge. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may pay their respects after noon Tuesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. --typed by Walt W
