WEST LEBANON- Ura Seeger, 75, one of this communities most prominent citizens, died at North Shores Hospital in Miami, Fla., Sunday as the result of injuries received in a traffic accident just one week earlier. His wife, Frances, remains in critical condition in the same hospital. Mr. Seeger, a retired grain broker and elevator operator, was widely known for his philanthropies. He gave $262,000 toward building the Seeger Memorial High School at West Lebanon. He also donated a library to Milligan College at Johnson City, Tenn. For a number of years he had been a trustee of the college. He also donated the land for the Christian Church Camp near West Lebanon and had assisted a number of Christian churches in this area. He was a director of the Standard Life Insurance at Indianapolis. For 16 years, Mr. Seeger served as 6th District Democratic chairman and had been an active party worker. He also is a former state senator. Mr. Seeger was married to Frances Curtis of Monon in 1957. The only other survivors is a nephew, Kenneth Miller of Pence, Ind., who was reared in the Seeger home.
