Waveland - Cpl. Donald R. Sechman, son of Mrs. Stella I. Sechman, Rt 1, Waveland, missing in Korea for more than three years, is presumed to be dead, according to an announcement made Thursday by the Army. Cpl. Sechman was listed among 60 additional soldiers in whose cases a presumptive finding of death now has been made. The Army said that no information has been received to indicate that any of them might be alive. In six previous lists the Army has listed 3,372 officers and men, once listed as missing, whom it now believves to be dead. C pl. Sechman who home was at Russellville when he was first reported missing was the first Russellville man to become a casualty of the Korean War. His family was notified August 1950 he had been missing in action since July 20, 1950. The family received a letter from him July 27 which he had written two days before he was reported missing. He said he was a clerk-typist in the post office section of his regiment, the 34th infantry. Cpl. Sechman, who was 19 entere4d the service Nov 5, 1948. He was sent overseas in March 1949. He was on duty in Japan when ordered to Korea.
