S.B. Scott, who has been ill for some time with cancer of the stomach died on Wed. afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church this Friday afternoon. Burial at Maple Ridge. -- kbz

Ted Moore was here from Terre Haute for the funeral of his grandfather, S.B. Scott. He has charge of the athletics for the Boys Club an organization supported by the community funds. It maintains night classes of various kinds. He has about 450 boys under his charge. -- kbz

Samuel Brinten Scott, son of Edward and Evelyn James Scott was born Aug 19, 1853 and departed this life Feb. 20, 1929 aged 75 years, 6 months and 1 day. He was the youngest of 11 children all of whom preceeded him in death except one brother, Thomas Scott of Ladoga. He was born on a farm near Ladoga. He was united in marriage to Margaret Amelia Moore Oct 15, 1874. To this union was born 5 children: two daughters, Mrs. Lola Moore of this place and Mrs. Ethel Peyton of Lebanon; three sons, Wallace of Crawfordsville, Samuel and Claude at home. He moved his family to this place 48 years ago and has engaged in several business enterprises always busy and happy. he was one of the most honest and upright men in the community, a kind neighbor never angry, always giving good advice to his children, but never giving them an unkind word. A rare type of devotion was always in evidence between him and the companion who have passed 54 happy years together. He united with the Methodist Church 42 years ago at this place and while custodian of the Church served as treasurer of the Sun. School for a number of years. During the holidays he was taken with intestinal flu and other complications, although his condition was not thought serious until about two weeks ago. He had been subject to heart trouble for several years and on account of an accident several years ago was not a rugged man. All that loving hands could do was done, but he had completed his life work and was called home. he is survived by the wife and five children, 16 granchildren and five great grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Scott of Ladoga and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends all who will mourn his departure. Payton,.., Mr. & Mrs. Harve Barton and Omer Trout of Lebanon; Mr. & Mrs. Harold Peyton of Peru; John Peyton of Anderson; Theodore Moore of Terre Haute; Mrs. Effie Call and Harry of Clinton; Mrs Claude Moore and family of Mecca and Mrs. Mott Young of Lebanon. -- kbz
