Waynetown, May 16 -- Byron S. Scott, 34 years old, farmer residing 8 miles south of here, was killed instantly today when he was struck by lightning at his farm near Alamo. A tenant at the James B. Elmore farm, Mr. Scott was found in a horse stall in the general service barn where it was assume he had taken refuge during a rainstorm. He was discovered by his wife, Louise Scott, who went to the barn a few minutes after the storm subsided. Although the barn was struck by the lightning bolt, damage was confined to a small section of the room and a panel near the stall where Mr. Scott's body was found. Born Dec 7, 1906 at Bluff Mills, Ind, the son of Frank and Josephine Scott, the deceased was united in marriage with Louise Miller at Harvey, Ill. April 17, 1929. Besides the wife, three daughters, LaVern, Barbra and Sharon Maybe; two stepsons, Junor and Norman, all at home; the parents; a brother, Darnell of near Lafayette, and a sister, Mrs. Eunice Richardson of Lafayette survive. Funeral services will be held at the Alamo Christian Church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be made at Freedom Cemetery northwest of Lafayette.

Alamo, May 19 - The funeral of Byron S. Scott, was held at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon. Mr. Scott was killed instantly Friday morning when he was struck by lightning in the barn at his farm home northwest of Alamo where he had taken refuge during a heavy rainstorm. Rev. Wilson of the Hillsboro Nazarene Church officiated, assisted by Rev. John Servies, pastor of the Christian Church here. Sweetly Resting, Good Night Here, Good Morning Up There and The Eastern Gate were beautifully sun gby Villa Stanford and Eula Bayless with Mrs. Agnes Moore at the piano. The many floral tributes were carried by Hazel Bowerman; LaMoine Elmore; Catherine Elmore, Catherine Elliott; Geraldine Keyes; Mary Joan Lambert' Myrtle Black; Eileen Pickett; Marcia Bowers; Letha Tucker; Blanche Black; Dorothy Watkins; Imogene Tucker and Wandalene Pickett. Pallbearers were Ora Long; Lon Keller; Carol Keller; George Long; Earl Keller and Frank Dowden. Burial was made in the Freedom Cemetery SW of Wallace.
