Christ Schweitzer, a resident of Crawfordsville for many years and one of the best known men in the city, died at midnight Tuesday at Culver Union Hospital, after a long illness with stomach trouble. Mr. Schweitzer had suffered with stomach disorders for 40 years. He was 73 years old, having been born in Germany in 1843. He came to this city while a young man and had lived here over half a century. Mrs. Schweitzer was a talented musician and in later years taught violin playing here. He had been in charge of numerous musical organizations here. Mr. Schweitzer is survived by his wife who now lives in Pennsylvania; three sons, Leo of this city; Richard of Knightstown and Herman of Illinois and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Davis and Mrs. Mort Hunt both of the city. Funeral services will be held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mort Hunt, east College Street, Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. The services will be in charge of Rev.
