Schmaltz - Frederick

Frederick Schmaltz, a portly cigar maker well known in Crawfordsville, committed suicide at Lafayette on Tuesday by severing his wind pipe with a rusty razor. He was a widower and leaves six helpless children. He was a fine workman and made as high as $30 a week when employed by John Shultz here. Whiskey wa shis ruin and he died in terrible destitution.
