Waynetown - Russell Rossman Schenck, 61, died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, Wednesday at 1 p.m. after suffering two strokes Saturday night. He had been a patient at the hospital four days. Born Sept 23, 1906, on the Schenck homestead in the Christian Union neighborhood, he was the son of Oliver and Anna Harpel Schenck. He was married to Gladys Kellier (sic - Keller) at Waynetown on September 22, 1928. He graduated from Waynetown HS in 1926. He was a member of the Christian Union Church. Mr. Schenck was a farmer and live - stock trucker. He was a past president of the National Tamworth Assn and director of the group at the time of his death. He was also a former state president of the group and held the position of secretary in 1957. He was the director of the Indiana Livestock Breeders Assn and had exhibited his own stock at the Indiana state fair for 25 years. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Grimble and mrs. Ruth Anne Ruby; five granddaughters, two grandsons; his father of Rt 2; two brothers, John and Kenneth of Waynetown; a sister, Miss Viola Schenck of Rt 2; an aunt, Mrs. Rose Stipe of New Ross and two uncles, A.D. Harpel of Crawfordsville; and Floyd Harpel of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Servies Funeral Home with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- kbz
