Schenck - Opal Berry

WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Opal Schenck, 81, of Rt. 1, Waynetown, a 50-year member and past worthy matron of the Waynetown Order of Eastern Star, died at l:55 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had undergone surgery. She was a member of the Christian Union Church, Wesley Home Demonstration Club and the Waynetown American Legion Auxiliary. She had been active in farming since 1912. She was born at State Line, Ill., on May 8, 1894, a daughter of Edward and Mary Elizabeth Fulton Berry. She married Forest W. Schenck on May 12, 1912. He died in 1964. Surviving are three sons, Willis and Eddie of Waynetown and Wendell of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Una) Larew of Waynetown and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Flocker of Davis, Calif.: 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two grand-children and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Dorman Winger and Wesley Ehrie officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
