-- Mrs. Nancy E. SCHENCK, 81, resident of the Waynetown community throughout her life, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Hughes, 1103 W . Market Street at 10 o[clock Saturday night. Mrs. Schenck had been in failing health 2 years and seriously ill for the past 6 months. Death was due to a complication of diseases. The deceased was born March 5, 1854 on a farm 4 miles NW of Waynetown, the daughter of George and Martha Ann Houser Westfall. She was married to Oscar Schenck March 10, 1881 whose death occurred May 10, 1928. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Schenck made their hom ein the Christian Union neibhrohood until 1926 when Mr. Schenck retired from active farming and they moved to Waynetown. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Schenck continued to make her home here except in the winter when she lived with her children. She was a member of the Christian Union Church 4 miles SE of Waynetown. The survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Era Murphy of the Christian Union neighborhood, a son, Forest who lived on the old Schenck homestead; 7 grandchildren; one great grandchild, a brother, CC Westfall of Waynetown and half sister, Mrs. Carrie Grenard of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at the Waynetown Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 with Rev. OG McMullen of Shelbyville in charge. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- kbz
