Waynetown - John C. Schenck, 79 of Waynetown died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday in Lane Nursing Center at Crawfordsville. He was a retired farmer and at the time of his death was a director of the Waynetown Branch of Elston Bank & Trust Company. In 1975 Mr. Schenck was made a 50-year member of Waynetown Masonic Lodge of which he was past master. He was also a 50-year member of the Waynetown chapter 435 Order of the Eastern Star. Other memberships included York Rite Lodge 50 of Montgomery County Wallace Low 12 Club & Christian Union Church east of Waynetown and the Waynetown Businessmen's Association. Born October 25, 1899 in the Waynetown community, he was a son of Oliver and Anna Harple Schenck. He was married to Mary L. Moore of Waynetown on June 28, 1919. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Maxine) Rush of Rt 1, Waynetown; a brother, Kenneth of Spencer; a sister, Viola Schenck of Waynetown; three grandsons, Gary Rush of Crawfordsville; Warren Rush of New Market and Wayne Rush of Waynetown; four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A brother, Russell of Waynetown preceded him in death. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dorman Winger and Rev. Farnk Howard officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic rites will be conductd at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday. -- kbz
