H. Wendell "Wendy" Schenck, 73 of Old Indiana 55 North died Friday evening in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been self-employed as a farmer in the Waynetown and Hillsboro areas and had owned a welding shop at Waynetown and laundromat at Crawfordsville before retiring. He was a member of the Christian Union Church of Waynetown and a Waynetown HS graduate. Mr. Schenck was born at Waynetown on Oct 1, 1917 to Forrest W. and Opal Berry Schenck. He married Margaret Newlin July 8, 1939. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Rodney A of Crawfordsville; five daughters: Marge Kaperski and Barbara Fruits of Crawfordsville; Janet Fyffe of Lebanon and Betty McCormick and Anna Cedars of Crawfordsville; a brother, Ed of Corpus Christi, Tex; two sisters, Una Larew of Waynetown and Elizabeth Flocker of Davis, Calif; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Allen Sparks officiating. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to the Christian Union Church or Liberty Chapel Church. - kbz
