COVINGTON – Peter Bernard Schefke, 44, was fatally stricken Monday at his home on Rt. 1. Mr. Schetke owned and operated a welding shop at his home. He had been a logger and a trucker. He was a member of the Kingman Christian Church. Mr. Schefke had lived in Fulton Township for the past 10 years. Prior to that he had resided in the Kingman and Yeddo communities. A native of Pennsylvania, he was born May 25, 1922, a son of Benjamin and Mary Albert Schefke. He was married to Carrie Everett Dec. 22, 1956. Surviving are the widow; his mother who resides in Clearfield, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Carmel Kandie Scott; a step-son, Maxie Everett of Kingman; two sisters, Mrs. Valerie Delp of Hillsdale and Mrs. Nettie McCullor of Bakersfield, Calif., and a brother, Gerald of Kingman. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. (EST) at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Larry McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and Wednesday afternoon and evening. – jlr
