JAMESTOWN – Mrs. Barbara Anna Schaaf, 91, who had lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walker, in Jamestown since 1950, died Tuesday morning at their home. She had been in failing health for several years. Born Dec. 16, 1877, in Williamson County, Ill., she was the daughter of Fred and Barbara Weitzel Harth. On Feb. 13, 1901, she married William Schaaf at Dale, Ind. He preceded her in death in 1945. Mrs. Schaaf was a resident of Dale before moving to Jamestown except for a five-year period when she resided in Bloomington while her two sons and two daughters attended Indiana University. She was a member of the Santa Claus United Methodist Church in Dale. Mrs. Schaaf was also preceded in death by one child. Survivors include the two sons, Dr. Alvin D. Schaaf of Jamestown and Clarence W. Schaaf of Pompano Beach, Fla.; the two daughters, Mrs. Velma Conway of Indianapolis and Mrs. Irene Walker of Jamestown a sister, Mrs. Monroe J Hudgens of Johnson City, Ill., four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Fuller Funeral Home at Dale. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home in Jamestown from 2 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and at the Fuller Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Santa Claus Camp Ground Cemetery at Dale. – jlr
