Paul David Sayler, 78, life resident of Montgomery County, died Friday morning in the Golden Manor Health Care Center at Ladoga. He was a retired farmer and Realtor. He was a member of New Market Baptist Church, New Richmond Masonic Lodge 604, New Richmond Chapter 377 OES and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He was a graduate of New Market High School. Born Oct. 1, 1899, near New Market, he was the son of Solomon Jacob and Pearl (Davis) Sayler. He was married Oct. 27, 1920, at New Market, to Mollie W. Stewart. She preceded him in death on March 6, 1975. Survivors include a son, Edward L. Sayler of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Lorene Bishop of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Dortha Harbaugh of Elkhart and Mrs. Allean Andrew of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a great-grandson. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Philip Hodgkin will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Masonic Rites will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Note: His marriage record says Paul Davis and his mother's maiden name is Davis so imagine his middle name is Davis but obit says David - anyone know for sure?
