Jasper Saulsbury, a former citizen of Waynetown was shot and killed yesterday at Kansas City, Mo, while engaged in the performance of his duty as an officer of the law. The sad news came last evening in a telegram to his wife who has been visiting relatives in Crawfordsville and vicinity. It seems that Saulsbury who is on the Kansas City Police force, had made an arrest and was taking the offencer into custody, when he drew a revolver and shot his captor. When he lived at Waynetown, Saulsbury was engaged in the livery business. He went west some years ago. Mrs. Saulsbury is a sister of Joseph McAlister, of this city -- kbz
