Arthur SASS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Sass of this city died at his home in Washington, Indiana Sunday morning at 4 from typhoid fever following a short illness. He was the only son of his parents and they received word of his death when they returned from a trip to Texas Sunday night. Arthur Sass was a graduate of the local school in 1904 and entered Wabash College the following year graduating there in 1908. A few years ago he left this city to take a position as teacher in Washington Ind HS. He met with great success in his work there and at the time of his death he was principal at the school. During the sectional basketball tournament two weeks ago he accompanied the Washington basket ball team to Vincennes while suffering with a heavy cold which later developed into typhoid causing h is death. In August 1913 he was married to Miss Mildred Wodsworth of Washington and one daughter, now 18 months was born to them. The deceased was 31 and was born in Luddington county Illinois. He came to t his city with his parents at an early age and had resided here until going to Washington. During his school years here the deceased was very popular and his death came as a shock to his many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Sass are both at home ill as a result of the news of their son's death. The remains will be brought to this city today and will be taken to the home of his parents 705 S. Green Street where the funeral will be held Wed morning at 10. The services will be in charge of the Masonic lodge. -- kbz

The body of Arthur SASS who died Sunday at his home in Washington, Indiana was brought back to this city yesterday morning and was taken to the home of his parents 705 S. Green Street. The funeral will be today at 10 but any friends who wish to view the remains may do so between 8 and 9:30 this morning. -- kbz

The funeral of Arthur SASS was held from the home of his parents at 705 S. Green yesterday morning and was attended by a large number of friends of the deceased. The services were simple but impressive and in keeping with the life of the young man. The sermon was preached by Rev. RE Moss of the Christian church and the scripture reading was by Rev. GF Kenaston who also offered prayers. The following young men all friends of the deceased acted as pall bearers. Prof GF Leonard; John A. Booe, Jr. David Glascock, Harry Wedding, Lyle Baker and Robert H. Niven. The burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. --kbz
