Sarjent - Ruby Alexander

ATTICA – Mrs. Ruby Sarjent of Attica, 76, died at 8 a.m. today in Community Hospital at Williamsport. She had been ill since April 29. Mrs. Sarjent was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Methodist Church at Attica. She was a graduate of Milford Township High School at Milford, Ill. She moved to Veedersburg in 1946 and to Attica in 1971. Born Jan. 1, 1900, at Milford, Ill., she was a daughter of George and Agnes Hislop Alexander. She married Bert E. Sarjent on June 16, 1918. He died in June 1968. Surviving are two daughters, Jean Swift and Martha Gossett of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Katheryn Honegger of Cissna Park, Ill.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son and daughter are deceased. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday in Dale Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Melford, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday. -– jlr
