Mrs. Leona Ruth Sanders, 42, died at Culver hospital in Crawfordsville Monday afternoon at 3:50 o'clock after a two weeks illness. Death was the result of complications. Mrs. Sanders was born March 3, 1905 near Browns Valley, the daughter of Charley and Anna Scott VanCleave. she was married to Elmer (Jack) Sanders November 28, 1928 in Crawfordsville. Surviving are the husband; two sons, Charles H., and John A., both at home; two daughters, Romella and Alice Louise; at home: her mother, Anna VanCleave; three brothers, George VanCleave of Wahpeton, N. D.; Paul VanCleave of Fresno, California; and Levi VanCleave of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Richard Fendley of Ladoga. She was preceded in death by her father. A sister, Hattie, died in infancy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the New Market Baptist Church with Rev. Creed Hampton officiating, assisted by Rev. Esmond Elliot of Terre Haute. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reeves Funeral Home in New Market until one hour before the services. - kbz
