James N. Sanders, 1015 west Main street, aged 76 years, a veteran of the Civil War and highly respected resident of this city, died this morning at eleven-thirty from Bright's disease and hardening of the arteries. He was a member of Company A, 70th Ohio Regiment. He was also a member of McPherson post, G.A.R. No. 7, in this city. He had been ill all winter and his death was not unexpected. During a part of his last illness was spent at sanitarium and it was there he died. Mr. Sanders came to this county from Ohio and for many years was a well known and highly respected farmer north of this city. About nine years ago he with his family moved to this city and took up residence. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susan Sanders, who was Miss Susan Shanklin, prior to her marriage. Four children survive. They are Mrs. George F. Bennett, of west of this city; Mrs. W.E. Cowan, of Waynetown; Mrs. A.S. Pruitt of this city, and Charley Sanders of west of town. The funeral services will be held at his late home on Monday morning at half past ten and the religious services will be in charge of Rev. A.E. Monger of Indianapolis.
