Joshua Harris Saidla, father of Mrs. Wilbur Cooper of Lafayette, died Tuesday night at the home of another daughter, Mrs. George Spahr in Frankfort while on a visit. He was born near Clark’s Hill on Sept 2, 1851, the son of Adam and Rebecca Saidla. His marriage to Martha Wilson took place January 24, 1871. Mr. Saidla was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge at Darlington. He served two terms as a county commissioner of Montgomery County. He was highly interested in church work and for 30 years taught a Sunday School class at the Potato Creek Church. The survivors are the widow; four children, Mrs. George Spahr of Frankfort; John Saidla of Winimas; Mrs. Glenn Long of Crawfordsvlle and Mrs. Wilbur Cooper of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Rosenberger of Milford, Ill; and Mrs. Mary Young of Newcastle; three brothers, Isaac Saidla of Wawasee, Jesse Saidla of Missouri and Frank Saidla of Claifornia; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body was taken to the home of Glenn Long in Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock at the Darlington Methodist Church. Burial will be made in the Greenlawn cemetery. - kbz

Renssalaer news - Joshua Saidla, brother of Isaac Saidla of this city died at his home in Crawfordsville Wednesday. Mr. Saidla was 75 years old. The funeral services will be held at Crawfordsville, Friday at 10 o'clock. - klbz
