Sadler - Irene Cunningham

COVINGTON – Mrs. Irene Sadler, 64, Covington, a partner with her husband in a local dry cleaning firm, died Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She was a 25-year member and past worthy matron of Troy Chapter 145 Order Eastern Star at Covington, and member and past mighty chosen one of Gao-Caldon 48, Danville. She also held memberships in Achsah White Shrine 65, Danville; Daughters of the Nile, Terre Haute; and Benson Chapel United Methodist Church. Born May 24, 1912, in Mound Township, Warren County, she was a daughter of Clyde and Gertrude Schuff Cunningham. She was married Sept. 6, 1930, to Ross Sadler. He survives. A former resident of Danville, she had resided here since 1965. Other survivors are a daughter, Helen L. of Covington; a brother, Clyde Cunningham of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Elvin (Marie) Harper of Stone Bluff; and three grandsons. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Loran Todd officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
