Rolly Lloyd Russell, 66, 803 S. John St, owner of Russell's Grocery at Mill & College and a Crawfordsville grocer for 24 years died Monday night in his home. He was born Oct 7, 1896 in Hammond and his parents were E. T. and Sophia Campbell Russell. On May 5, 1916, he married Helen Grabman in Crawfordsville. He worked for 20 years at the Crawfordsville Ice Plant and at Mid States Steel & Wire Co. He opened his first grocery at Franklin & Mill streets, later moving to the present location. He retired in July. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Eagles and Moose Lodges. Survivors include his widow; a daughter ,Mrs. Harold Marshall of Crawfordsville; three sons, Merl E, Jack B. and Richard of Crawfordsville; a brother, Raymond of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard's with a rosary service set for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bright Funeral Home. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday. - kbz
