Helen Z. Rusk, 1212 Mill St, a teacher in the Alamo school, died at Culver Hospital Wednesday evening. She had been a patient for one day. She was born Oct 4, 1908 near Waveland, the daughter of Clarence and Jesse Lee Livengood Smith. Lloyde E. Rusk, whom she married April 20, 1935 at Bellmore, survives. She attended school at Yountsville and was graduated from Alamo High School. She had taught at Alamo 16 years at the time of her death. She was active in PTA and in scouting and was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star at Alamo. Other survivors include the father; a stepmother, Mrs. Clarence Smith; one sister, Mrs. William Sabens of Crawfordsville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Robert Smith of Delphi and Mrs. Paul Beach of Linnsburg; three sons, Edward Lee, Fred David and Jack Dean and a daughter, Anna Jean, all at home. One sister died in infancy. Funeral services will be at the Bright Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Esmond Elliott of Indianapolis officiating. Burial in Freedom Cemetery.
