Runyon - Maatthias

Mathias B. Runyon, 61, well known prosperous farmer of the New Market community, died at 9:15 o'clock Sunday morning after in illness of one week. Death, attributed to arteriosclerosis, occurred at the family home a half mile east of New Market. Mr Runyon had been in failing health for the past year. He was born at Spencer, Ind., on March 28, 1875, the son of George W. and Adaline Barnes Runyon. On February 26, 1896, he was married to Cloa Johnson at Danville, Ill. Mr. Runyon spent the greater part of his life in farming. He was a member of the Methodist church at Danville, Ill. He is survived by his wife, five children, Eugene Runyon of Crawfordsville, Miss Beulah Runyon at home, Miss Nelle Runyon, Winona Lake, Ind., Loyal Runyon of New Ross and Miss Evelyn Runyon, at home; five grandchildren; two brothers, William and Harvey Runyon, both of Waynetown, and five sisters, Mrs. Lida Lee, Pittsburgh, Okla., Miss Hettie Runyon of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Lillie Schroyer, of Fairmount, Ill., and Mrs.Cora Wolfe of Fairmount, Ill., and Mrs. Della Milner, of Johnsonville, Ill. One daughter, Frances, died at the age of three years. The body was brought to the Proffitt & Sons funeral home here and was to be returned to the family residence near New Market late Monday evening. The funeral will be held at the home near Mew market at 4 p.m., Wednesday, with burial in the New Ross cemetery. - thanks to Kim H
