Runyon - Earl

Sgt Earl D. Runyon, 31 an 11-year-veteran with the US Army and son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Runyon of Rt 7, Crawfordsville died Wednesday in the Ft. Ord army hospital in California. He had been ill for about 3 years and hospitalized for several months prior to his death. He and his family made their home at Pacific Grove, Calif. Born June 5, 1934 at Catlin, Ill he was reared and attended schools there. He married the former Lucille Kepling of Catling in 1956. During that year his parents moved to the Crawfordsville area. He was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ. Prior to serving at Ft Ord, Sgt Runyon had spent 3 1/2 years in Germany. Survivors include the widow; three children, Gary, Susan and David, all at home; the parents, a brother, Sgt James D. Runyon of Ft. Hood, Tx and a sister, Judy Runyon of Rt 7. The body is being brought to the Barrick Funeral Home at 440 N. Walnut St. in Danville, Ill whose funeral arrangements will be made. -- kbz
