Delphi – Funeral services for Charles Amos Ruffner, age 59, employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad 29 years, were held at Flora today with burial in the Masonic Cemetery at Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Clinton Eagles’ Lodge. The widow and 10 children survive. -kz

Flora, Ind Nov 5 – Charley Amos Ruffner, 59, died at 4:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon at his home here of heart disease. He had been ill since the first of August. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Ruffner and 10 children: Mrs. Dorothy Clawson of Radnor; Mrs. Edith Keyes of Detroit; Mrs. Mary Randall of Burrows; Mrs. Pauline Landis of Celina, Ohio; James; Minnie; Lewis; Richard; Robert and Eston at home. There are left two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Albert Smith of Indianapolis; Mrs. Minnie Wyatt and John Ruffner of Crawfordsville and Forest Ruffner of Detroit. Mr. Ruffner was born March 24, 1878 the son of Frnakling and Sarah E. Ruffner. He was a member of the Eagles lodge at Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Leiter Funeral Home here with Rev. Ray Zook in charge. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Crawfordsville.

Charles Amos Ruffner, son of Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth (Hibbs) Ruffner, was born at Browns Valley, Montgomery County, Indiana, March 24, 1878. He passed away at 4:30 p.m. at his home in Flora, Carroll County, Indiana, November 4, 1937 at the age of 59 years, 7 months and 10 days.
June 6, 1907, he was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds. To them were born 10 children; Mrs. Lawrence Clawson of Radnor, Mrs. Melvin Keys of Detroit, Mrs. Orval Randal of Burrows, Mrs. Herman Landis of Celina, Ohio; Minnie Ellen, James, Eston, Lewis, Richard and Robert at home.
Besides the immediate family he is survived by nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elva Smith of Indianapolis and Minnie Watt of Crawfordsville; and two brothers, John Ruffner of Crawfordsville and Fount Ruffner of Detroit.
For more than twenty-nine years Mr. Ruffner was in the employ of the Pennsylvanina R. R. Company, first as section foreman and more recently as trackman.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Clinton, Indiana, where he formerly lived.
Funeral services were held at the Leiter Funeral home here Saturday at 10 a.m., with Rev Ray E. Zook of the Flora Church of the Brethren, officiating, following which the body was removed to the home of John Ruffner in Crawfordsville, where another service was conducted by Rev. Zook. Burial was made in the Masonic cemetery at Crawfordsville.
