John Ruddle, 94, of 1630 Elmore St., a life-long resident of Crawfordsville, died Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. at the Culver Union Hospital. He was born in Crawfordsville, the son of Patrick and Johanna Ruddle and was never married. He played minor league baseball most of his life and after retirement was a self-employed painter and cleaner. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Crawfordsville Eagles Lodge. Survivors include two nephews, Walter and Ernest Ruddle of Indianapolis, and a niece, Mrs. William Kuntz of Dayton, Ohio. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward will officiate. Rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
