Elizabeth Switzer Rubsan was born in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio June 10th, 1846 and departed this life at Waveland Indiana on the morning of Oct 30, 1920 aged 74Y4M20D. She was the youngest daughter of Nancy H. Dooley and Jonathan Switzer, one of a family of 7 children of which one survives, James Switzer of Denver, Colorado. At the age of 3 her mother passed away and she was brought to this state to live with her uncle, Silas Dooley. She attended the rural school near Marshall, Indiana. She was educated in Valparaiso University and Holbrook College, Lebanon, Ohio and taught school in Ohio for several years. In 1886 she was married to George Rubsan of Osborn, Ohio. They lived in Dayton a number of years and later moved to Osborn where they lived until her husban'd death. She then came to Waveland, October 15, 1916 to live with her sister, Mrs. Virginia Jarvis. After the death of Mrs. Jarvis, Mrs. Eliza Ware has made her home with her for the past two years. She had been in declining health for several months and in the distress of illness and suffering the Angel of Death became an Angel of Mercy, and her spirit released from this dissolving earthly tabernacle returned unto God who gave it. Funeral services at the home on Sunday afternoon were conducted by Rev JT Boyer. On Sunday evening, Ollie Switzer, Mrs. Ed Hancock and Miss Vivian Oldshure accompanied the body to Osborn, Ohio for burial, JE Oldshue going as far as terre Haute. Those present from a distance at the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Dooley of Rockville; Mrs. Martha McClure of Marshall; Mr. & Mrs. Ollie Switzer of Bellmore and James Switzer of Denver, Colorado. ----kbz
