William L. Royer, 50, Linden businessman collapsed and died Wednesday morning in a Crawfordsville store. Royer was pronounced dead by doctors after a Crawfordsville fire department resuscitator squad qorked for several minutes trying to revive him. He collapsed on the 3rd floor of the Montgomery Ward Co. store, 127 E. Main Street. Witnesses in the store said that he was standing at the service counter at the rear of the store when he fell, fatally stricken to the floor. "He was just standing there and suddenly fell over," a witness said. He and his brother, Robert owned the Square Corner Hardware Store in Linden for 22 years. he was born April 26, 1912 in Montgomery County. His parents were John M. and Nellie Shipman Royer. He was married to Evelyn Nina Storms. He was a graduate of Linden HS and was a member of the Kirkpatrick Methodist Church. He lives in Linden all his life. Survivors include the widow; his mother; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Holt and Roanne Royer, a son Melvin; two brothers, Rober and Fred; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Dunbar and Mrs Edgar Scott of Reynolds; 5 grand and several nieces & nephews. Body was taken to Helms Funeral Home, Linden where funeral arragnments are incomplete. kbz
