Last Saturday at 9 o’clock Robert Rudabush, who lived with his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Roudabush, northeast of Romney, met a tragic death while at work in the field. That morning when he started to work he took with him a shot gun to shoot crows, placing it on the seat of his sulky plow. About nine o’clock the people at the house heard his gun discharged and a few minutes later his team was seen wandering over the field dragging the plow. His brother, fearful of an accident, hastened to the field and there found the dead body of the unfortunate young man. A great hole was torn in his breast and it was evident that death had been instantaneous. The clothing was on fire and the grief stricken brother burned his hands severely in putting out the flames. The coroner was called and found the facts to be as above stated. -s
