Rogers - Robert R.

Robert R. Rogers was born in Warren County, Ohio, Dec. 24, 1824, and died at the residence of his son, Fred, near Crawfordsville, Dec. 11, 1894, aged 69 years, 11 months and 17 days. He was married to Naomi Meloy, Jan. 11, 1859. to this union were born five children, of whom two died in infancy. The wife and the three remaining children, Charlie, Amie, and Fred, all grown, with three little grandchildren, are left to mourn their loss. The deceased united with the Newlight Church during 1856 and lived an honest life. During his sickness he was seldom heard complaining of his lot, but bore all his suffering patiently. He was conscious to the last and when asked if he knew where he was said, “Yes, I am with my wife and darling children.” As his last moments on earth drew near, he clapped his hands but could not speak. The interment occurred on Thursday, Dec. 13. The funeral was conducted by Rev. R. M. Zuck. -s
