Rogers - Nanna Cox

Mrs. Nanna J. Rogers, 96, former Crawfordsville resident, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Dr. and Mrs. J. Cedric Carter in Savoy, Ill. She was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church while living in Indiana. After moving to Illinois when her husband died, she became active in the Savoy United Methodist Church until her health failed. She married Frank Rogers of Crawfordsville Dec. 15, 1901. Mrs. Rogers was born Oct. 4, 1876, in Montgomery County, a daughter of Louis and Delialah McAnulty Cox. She was a descendant of one of the earliest pioneer families in Montgomery County. Survivors include the daughter, Margaret Lucile Cox; a son-in-law, Dr. Cox; a foster grandson, Charles Fenton; one grandson; a granddaughter-in-law, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Savoy United Methodist Church in Illinois. - jlr
