Thorntown, Ind Oct 23 – George Washington Rogers, 93 years old, who saw service in Company I, 150th Regiment in the Civil War, and under Gen. Custer in the Indiana uprising with the Kansas volunteers, died of complications in his home here this afternoon. After his army service he was a trapper for several years. He was a personal friend of Wild Bil Hickok, California Joe and Arizona Jack. Mr. Rogers was born in Tippecanoe County. He was married to Elizabeth A. Ransdel May 17, 1887 at Frankfort. A daughter. Mrs. Guy S. McCoy of Indianapolis is the only survivor. His wife died Sept 19, 1933 and a son, Melvin B. Rogers of Champaign Ill died last April 23. Funeral services will be in the Russell Funeral Home in Thorntown at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be in Crawfordsville. – kz
