Lebanon - Mrs. Jennie L. Rodgers, 82, of Rt. 4, Lebanon, died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday in Witham Hospital, where she was admitted a few hours earlier. She had been in failing health 11 years. A daughter of Alva and Nettie Baker Walters, she was born Dec. 19, 1887 near New Ross in Montgomery County. She married Nathaniel Rodgers on Feb. 17, 1909 in Crawfordsville. Her husband survives with a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Winifred) Padgitt of Crawfordsville, and a son, Francis Rodgers of Rt. 4, Lebanon; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Kinkead of New Ross and Mrs. Lola Myers of Shirley. A son, brother and sister are deceased. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the United Methodist Church at New Ross and was active until her health failed. She last attended Old Union Church. For the last 24 years she lived on a farm in the Old Union neighborhood. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon, where friends may call. Rev. Raymond Duff will officiate, with burial in Old Union Cemetery.
