Robinson - Johnnie

Johnnie Robinson died Sunday evening at 35 minutes after 8 o'clock at the home of his parents on E. College St. He had a complication of diseases which baffled the skill of physicians. As early as the second week of September he was taken ill and grew worse gradually until about two weeks ago he was compelled to take his bed with what, for lack of a better name was called bilious fever. He continued no better, but was not considered in a dangerous condition until Sunday morning when another physician was called in on account of a change for the worse which had taken place during the night. The Dr. summoned another medical man and a consultation was held. They gave him up and from that time on there was nothing to do but to tearfully await the end. At 1 o'clock his last words asking that his grandmother give him a drink were spoken. From that time he was unconscious until 8:35 when the spirit left the emaciated body forever. John Robinson, Jr. was 18 years of age last June. He was the oldest of the two children, John R, Sr. and Laura Robinson and an only son. He was a bright cheerful boy, liked by all who knew him and known by nearly everybody in town. The sympathy of the entire community is with the bereaved parents. It is particularly hard to lose a child just emerging into manhood. The funeral of John R. Robinson, Jr. occurred on Tues at 2 o'clock at the home on E. College St. A very large number of people were out, far more than the house would hold. Rev. GW Switzer was assisted by Rev. BF Foster of Indianapolis and Rev. JW Greene. Six young men of the Mud Turtle Camping Party acted as pall bearers. They were: James Hanna, Al Condit, Carl Walk of Indianapolis, Sherman Trout, John Burbridge and Frank Allen of Indianapolis. The floral offerings were numerous and of beautiful design. Omer Cox and Cliff Voris were carriers of flowers . The procession moved toward the Cemetery about half past 3. kbz
