John Thomas Robinson, 80, a native of KY and resident of Crawfordsville since 1906, died at 5 p.m. Monday at his home,309 N Grant Ave, after an illness of about 4 years. He was a son of Arthur and Betty Robinson and was born Aug 25, 1882 in Lancaster, KY. He was married in 1920 to Susie Baughman in Danville, KY. Mr. Robinson was a deacon at 2nd Baptist Church here. He had been employed at the HIllsdale Manufacturing Co, Mid States Steel & Wire and Fanny Bee Style Shoppe. Surviving besides the wife are six daughters: Daisy, Martha, Harriet and Mabel Robinson and Mrs. Lovetha Smitherman all of Indianapolis and Mrs. Winnie Shepherd of Crawfordsville; six sons, Arthur and Julian of Ft. Wayne; John of Cincinnati, Lawrence and Don of Crawfordsville and Willie E. of Indianapolis. One son and a grandchild are deceased. Also surviving are a brother, Joe of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Frankie Saunders of Tennessee 19 grandchildren five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Body is at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements incomplete. kbz

Funeral services for John Thomas Robinson were held Thursday afternoon in 2nd Baptist Church Rev. LO Lapsley and Rev. Leslie Pollard officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers were: Van Tapp, Walter Robinson, HB Robinson, Jesse Burdette, Robert Earl and Leslie Dean. Flowers were carried by Mattie Pollard, Marguerite Lapsley, Elsie Fields, Maxine Burdette, Betty Chandler, Lottie Norvell, Madonna Robinson, Norma Churchill and Bee Norvell. Hymns were sung by Sarah Squires accompanied on piano by Laverne Squires. kbz
