VEEDERSBURG -- Charles A. Robinson, 72, sheriff of Fountain County from 1927 until 1931, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. Death was attributed to a heart condition. He had been hospitalized two days. He was a member and past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge No. 491. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. He also was a Navy veteran of World War I and was a member of the Veterans of World War I and the Covington Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had worked as a farmer most of his life. He was born in Fountain County April 1, 1894, to Willard and Emily Robinson. He graduated from Veedersburg High School. On Nov. 20, 1930, he married Freda Nebeker, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard, and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Marsh of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services and Masonic rites will be at Sever Funeral Home in Veedersburg at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial and full military rites will be at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. -- typed by Walt W
