Veedersburg - Alvah Roberts, a barber at Veedersburg for 60 years, died Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeview Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient since Saturday. He had been a patience since Saturday. He had been in failing health a year. Mrs. Roberts was born June 29, 1886, the son of Hiram and Mary Krout Roberts. In 1907 he married Nettie Bruce who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Whalen and son, Leland Roberts, both of Danville, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Retta McKee of Veedersburg and Mrs. Ina Bowrman of Alamo and a stepmother, Mrs. Ada Roberts of Veedersburg. He was a member of the EUB Church. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Fishero Funeral Home, Veedersburg with Rev. Samuel Pritchard officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. - kbz
