– William Edgar Roach was born August 23, 1880, and departed this life Nov 6, 1911, aged 31 years, 2 months 15 days. He was the son of Nicodemus and Mary S. Roach, and was born in Hendricks County Indiana but when a child came with his parents to this city where he lived until he moved to Terre Haute about 3 years ago, where he resided until his death. Edgar was always a good boy, kind and obedient to his parents and generous with his friends. To know him was to love him. When quite a small boy he joined the Methodist Church. He leaves a wife and little daughter, Thelma, aged 8 months. Besides these he leaves a dear mother, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Weil and Mrs. Anna Nicholson and two brothers, Charles A. and Ora J. Roach and Samuel S. Roach, a half-brother all of this city, together with a host of friends to mourn for him. Dear Edgar no tongue can ever tell how sad and lonely our hearts are without you. But we must bow our heads and pray God to give us strength to bear out loss and some day we will all meet where there will be no sad partings. Signed: A relative -- transcribed by kbz
