David A. Roach, who was a young attorney in Rockville in the late seventies, died at his home in Indianapolis April 11, age 78. He was a native of Parke county, and after his graduation from the law school of' the Indiana university, came to Rockville and for a time practiced with the late John E. Humphries. Mr. Roach was elected prosecutor of the circuit composed of Parke and Montgomery counties in 1882, when he moved to Crawfordville. In 1893 he was appointed sheriff of the Indiana Supreme court and since that time he has resided in Indianapolis. He was one of the organizers of Silliman lodge, K. P., and was a member of the grand lodge of that order. Mr. Roach had many friends in Rockville during his residence here. In middle life he was active in politics and was always a steadfast Democrat."
