Charles Roach, 61, of 900 S. Washington St., died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., where he was employed as a security guard in Department CPS. He began his career 40 years ago at Donnelleys, serving on an apprenticeship in the letterpress pressroom. After completing his apprenticeship he served as pressman until being transferred to security. Mr. Roach was a member of the Moose Lodge. Born Sept. 22, 1915, he was a son of Archie and Hattie Lewellen Roach. He was married to Catherine Fairfield in 1936. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Phillip who is a Crawfordsville policeman; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Vowels of Crawfordsville; a sister, Louise Newell of Crawfordsville; a brother, Robert of Crawfordsville; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Austin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today. Moose services will be conducted this evening in the funeral home.--waw
