Waynetown Sept 23 - William G. Rivers, 84, retired farmer of the Waynetown community died from a heart attack suffered Wednesday night at the home of his son, Glenn Rivers near Crawfordsville. Mr. RIvers who had retired for the night became ill in bed shortly before 11 o'clock. He died at 11:15 a few minutes after the arrival of the physician who was called. Mr. Rivers was born Dec 10, 1863, in Campbellsburg, Ky son of Joel and Samantha Sullivan Rivers. He came to Waynetown to work on a farm when a young man. He was married Jan 3, 1895 to Rosalie Biddle of Waynetown.
Mr. and Mrs. Rivers resided for many years on their farm north of Waynetown. Mrs. Rivers died about 10 years ago. Mr. Rivers was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. In addition to the son, GLenn Rivers, living on the Waynetown Road near Crawfordsville, another son, Lawrence Rivers of Kokomo survives. A brother, Ed Rivers of Campbellsburg Ky also survives. There are 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Waynetown Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. Gary Albritton of Salem. The body will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Friends may call at the Grenard & Servies funeral home to pay respects. Burial in Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown - kbz
