Rivers - Raymond Daniel

Raymond Daniel Rivers, 68 of Rt 1, Lizton, father of Mrs. Barbara Billingsley, Rt 2, Lafayette was fatally burned in a mishap while operating a tractor on his farm. He died Saturday in Robert W. Long Hospital, Indianapolis. The fire occurred Friday evening. There was believed to have been no fire in the tractor and the reason for his clothing catching fire was unknown, except that a cigarette lighter in his pocket may have been the cause. Born and reared at Waynetown, Mr. Rivers had lived in the Lizton area 20 years. He was married to Lulu Ross of Independence. Surviving with Mrs. Billingsley are two other daughters, Mrs. Betty Keller of Covington and Mrs. Marilyn Hicks of Pittsboro and a son, James of Pittsboro. The body was sent to Pittsboro.
