Mrs. Jennie B. Rivers, 78, Crawfordsville, died Friday morning at Culver Hospital. Mrs. Rivers was a member of the Crawfordsville First Baptist Church. Born June 8, 1885, in Montgomery County near Wingate, Mrs. Rivers was the daughter of William Harrison and Mary Caroline Simpson Thomas. On July 13, 1902, she married Joseph C. Rivers. They started housekeeping north of Waynetown and moved to Crawfordsville in 1912. Mr. Rivers died April 11, 1935. Following her husband’s death Mrs. Rivers worked as a practical nurse. Mrs. River was also preceded in death by a brother, James Stanley Thomas who died in 1955. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Robert Wilson of Robinson, Ill.; a great-niece, Mrs. Judith Wilson Seligman of Indianapolis, and a nephew, Glenn Rivers of Crawfordsville. Several other nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton G. Christenson officiating. Burial will be at the South Cemetery in Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
