Bertha Rivers, Former Darlington Resident, Dies- Mrs. Bertha Lou Rivers, 83, died Thursday morning at the Westbrook Nursing Home. She lived most of her life near Darlington, where she was a member of the East Christian Church. She moved to 803 Grace Ave., Crawfordsville, a year ago. Mrs. Rivers was born June 1, 1880, in Illinois, to Robert and Martha Moss Hensley. She was married to George C. Roach and Joseph Rivers, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons; James R. Roach and George C. Roach of Crawfordsville and Christopher C. Roach of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Una Hughes, Florence Barker and Matilda Hunley; and five stepchildren; Mrs. Donald Gott, Mrs. Lex Stonebraker, Mrs. Earl Keller, Mrs. Violet Long and Monty Rivers. There are five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 Saturday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home by Rev. Donald Stockford. Burial will be at Freedom Cemetery.
