Ruth Irene Ritchie Wingate – Ruth Irene Ritchie, 54, of Rt. 1, died suddenly at 5 p.m. Wednesday in her home of an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Ritchie was a member of the New Hope Chapel Church at Wingate, the American Legion Auxiliary at Wingate and the Canasta Club. She had been employed with the Wilson Shirt Factory, the Post Office at Wingate and at other businesses in the Wingate area. She was graduated from Wingate High School in 1944. Born June 18, 1926, at Rossville, she was a daughter of Edgar E. and Gladys Sayers Wilson. In 1946, she married David L. Ritchie, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Stephen D. of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Sandra) Swick of New Richmond; a brother, Kenneth Wilson of Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Willis (Mary Jane) Surface of Wingate; and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and a sister. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Barry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Heart Fund. smc
