NEW RICHMOND — Ralph Arthur Risk, 74, of Rt. 1, New Richmond, died Friday afternoon at his home. Montgomery County Coroner Russell Powers said Mr. Risk took his own life. He had farmed on Rt. 1, New Richmond, since 1948. Prior to entering farming, he had been employed by National Dairy Co. He was a member of Newtown Presbyterian Church and was a 50-year member of Richland Masonic Lodge at Newtown. Mr. Risk was a graduate of Purdue University and a member of Acacia Fraternity. He was born at Edgely, N.D., on Nov. 25, 1902, a son of Joseph A. and Ella Brown Risk. He was married to Margaret McCorkle on March 4, 1933. Surviving are his wife; a son, Gerald of Rt. 1, Wingate; two daughters, Ann Risk Garber of Corydon, Iowa, and Patricia Risk Champlin of Monee, Ill.; a brother; six sisters, and 11 grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Newtown Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Donald Watson officiating. There will be no calling at Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown.
