Ring - Julia

The community was startled and shocked about 7 o’clock yesterday evening by the announcement that Mrs. Tim Ring had died suddenly in the corridor of the jail, where she had gone to visit her son, Patsy, who was a prisoner. Mrs. Ring had been a daily visitor at the jail from the time Patsy was incarcerated, about five months ago, and yesterday evening was making her usual call when she was attacked with heart trouble from which she had been a sufferer for several years, and expired within five minutes after her arrival at the jail. She spoke but once after reaching her son and her last words were, “Oh, I’m so sick.” Mrs. McClaskey, wife of the Sheriff, was near at hand and came to her assistance and Miss Minnie, daughter of Mrs. Ring was sent for and arrived in time for her mother to die in her arms. Everything possible was done for the stricken woman, but without avail and in fifteen minutes from the time she left her home, well and hearty and apparently happy, she was returned a corpse. Mrs. Ring was 56 years of age, she was a devout Catholic and was a lady held in the highest esteem by her neighbors and acquaintances over the city. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her son who was behind the bars with all her soul. Three children, two sons and a daughter, and a stricken husband are left to mourn her death. The funeral will take place from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 10:30 tomorrow, Rev. Father Dinnen officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
