Mellott, May 5 – Mrs. Margaret Riley, aged resident of this place died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Akin. The deceased had been in ill health for many months and had been seriously ill about four days. Death was caused by complications. She was born April 25, 1849, near Yountsville, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Manford Smith. She was married 50 years ago to Elias Riley who died four years ago. She lived for many years in the vicinity of Yountsville and had been living in or near Mellott for 50 years. She was a member of the South Christian Church of Mellott. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Gott, Mrs. David Duncan and Mrs. James Akin and two sons, Irwin and Harvey all of Mellott; 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the South Christian Church in Mellott. Burial will be made at Hillsboro. - kbz
